Andy Cole

Andy Cole graduated from Derby University in 1998 with a BA(hons) in Fine Art. For a number of years he worked as an artist in Derby with community groups and schools before moving to Cornwall in 2002. He currently lives and works in St Ives.

Andy's approach to creating work is diverse. His work in the past has ranged from creating animals by bending and welding together steel rods and scrap metal, making assemblages from found material (from driftwood to animal skulls), making amusing collages, painting on anything that doesn't move and producing highly detailed drawings, using whatever mark-making implement comes to hand!

Andy is inspired by the strange, the Out There and the most Singular Lovecraftian and Fortean aspects of the world we live in and his work is often imbued with a dark sense of humour.

Andy says that "Dark Fantasy drives me and gets me off my creative arse. I could draw pets, but they'd be ugly!"
