Natalie J Watts

Natalie J Watts is a freelance photographer, recently graduated and currently based in Nottingham. Working throughout the UK, her preferred areas of working include Burlesque, Pin Up and all things alternative. Her work has been used by the BBC, Ministry of Burlesque, corsetieres Eternal Spirits and Velda Lauder and featured in numerous magazines including Lingerie Buyer. She also works in areas of Fashion, Advertising and Portraiture.

Natalie�s work has two very different, but equally distinctive, styles � her highly stylised portraits (as seen in the recent PETS series) and her haunting, fine art photographs. Of the latter, Natalie says � �Though I prefer to add �dark� and sometimes slightly unnerving elements to my photography, I also want the audience to find wondrous beauty in the work, almost transporting them to another world. I frequent long shutter speeds (camera shake), giving my photographs an almost dream-like, painting quality, which I feel adds to the glamour and illusion. A true representation that has something more to entice the viewer into the photograph and make them contemplate the work is a necessity. I try to capture an energy from my subjects, transferring it through the camera lens for my audience.�
