Songe Riddle

Songe Riddle was raised on the west coast of The United Stated, in the desolate semi-urban sprawl of Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 2000, with a BFA in illustration and a minor in computer animation.

He worked for three years, creating motion graphics for film and television before striking out on his own as a freelance illustrator, and has since provided art for magazines, book and album covers, and storyboard and script illustrations for film.

Songe prefers to use traditional media, including oils, acrylics, and inks on illustration board. Digital manipulation has been known to find it's way into his work at times as well. His major influences are 60's and 70's movie poster and comic book illustrators, and this comes through in his stark lighting and design sense.

Songe tries always to find the medium between the darker violent tendencies of humanity and the architecture that connects nature and our subconscious.
