Sue Burns

Having worked with ceramics for some three years, Sue Burns' equine sculptures in paper clay have been the culmination of her work on their design, appearance and her inspiration. She is now moving over to work in copper, so will be producing more styles using this media in the very near future. Sue has always been inspired by horses, and just adores their majesty, beauty and just about everything about them!! Sue used to ride, but due to various reasons doesn't any more but she hasn't lost her love for the horse.

Inspiration for her spirit horse range is taken from ancient Greek images of the horse and its nature and the history of the horse in general. The finish reflects Sue's love of desolate and rugged scenery - anywhere wild and untamed and she feels that it shows the hidden side of the modern horse, its tempestuousness and potential for aggression alongside its beauty.
