Jemma Treweek
(Nottingham & London Exhibitions)
Jemma followed a degree in Fashion Design with running an international fashion business for 7 years. On realising that she loved illustration more than sewing, Jemma found her true love in the print studio and soon became horribly obsessed with screen printing.
Jemma's work is influenced by a combination of folk art, 70’s illustrators, mermaids, dolls, creepy animated movies, Hans Holbein (the younger) and nature. She loves twins and loud music and sleeping. She mostly makes spooky screenprinted girls, weird machines and lots and lots of gigposters.
Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Vogue, 19 Magazine, Sleaze Nation, ID magazine, Fashion Weekly, Sportswear International, Senken (Japan) amongst others. She has produced work for bands such as Bonde do Role and world renowned artists such as Vashti Bunyan and Nina Nastasia.
Jemma has exhibitied her work in Europe and the US and is a member of BRAG www.bragart.co.uk
