Matthew Vickerstaff a graduate of Loughborough School of Art and Design in 1999. Since then the years have seen Matthew progress from a graduate through a series of positions in Record Labels (Earache Records, Peaceville Records) and Magazines (Kerrang!) to finally see him owning various companies including Darkwave Art - graphics and art, Darkwave Press & Promotion and Darkwave Clothing as well as a founding member of the Danse Macabre exhibition.

His artwork has been featured in magazines globally and seen on numerous album covers, posters and merchandise. Bands include My Dying Bride, The Breathing Process, Carcass, Deicide, Paradise Lost, The Haunted as well as including work for such companies as Jägermeister and Eternal Spirits.

Exploring, exploiting and embracing all elements of the darker sides of life, Matthew's work takes its influences from human suffering, nightmares, noise, death and religion to name a few. Surreal moments and beautiful landscapes emerge from this immersion of the mind and senses in this hellish, Stygian world.
