Submissions
Danse Macabre is always looking for submissions from artists who consider their work to be
unconventional, subversive, bizarre, otherworldy, fey or downright strange. We love to be surprised!
On the whole we are open to any form of art (i.e. traditional or new media, 2D, 3D, etc.), however the nature of each particular event or exhibition may require us to put some restrictions on what we can or cannot include. But don't worry, if we like your work we'll bear you in mind for a future occasion where we might have different criteria or less restrictions - you never know, your work may even inspire us enough to create an event we had never thought of doing before!
Now in our 4th year, Danse Macabre has curated 3 annual exhibitions in Nottingham and 1 in London and after February 2010 we will have also hosted 2 major events in Nottingham. We are continually exploring different ways of putting creativity under the noses of the general public in a variety of guises and have a lot of ideas in various stages of germination.
You can submit work now and we'll include you in the next submission process or wait until we do a call-out for a specific event or exhibition - see General Submissions Guidelines to your right.
Either way feel free to join us on:
Facebook: www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=47997056620
Myspace: www.myspace.com/dansemacabre_art
This way you'll be the first to know what we're up to, where and when. Please pass this information onto anyone you think maybe interested.
Thanks,
Matt, Charlotte and Paul

General Submissions Guidelines
Email your submissions to: info@dansemacabre-art.co.uk
Artists: please email 4 jpegs of your recent work along with a brief biography/statement and proposal if you're doing new work (include links to any website or Myspace pages you may have)
Performers: you should also email a brief biography/statement and proposal, jpegs are ok, however we would prefer to see video footage of live performances, so send us links to any website or MySpace pages that your work is featured on.
The images you submit now are just to give us a sense of what your work is like and how it will fit in with other artists' and performers' work and the overall event or exhibition. You can create new work or performance for a particular event if you wish, however it would still need to have the same feel and fit any specified submission criteria that may be attached to a particular event.
If you are not sure what we are looking for check the artists and performers we have previously included in past events
Please note this information covers general submissions, for certain events we may have specific guidelines and/or restrictions and these would be highlighted in our call-outs. Don't worry if you don't have an extensive track-record of past events or exhibitions, because we feel that a professional attitude and attention to detail more than compensates for this!
